Google Maps is present on other mobile platforms, including BlackBerry, iOS, webOS major and of course, Android. Windows phone, however, delivered with Bing only maps and a version of Google Maps is not yet available. Instead of waiting for Google develop an official version, TechAutos has developed a homemade version of Google Maps for Windows phone. Mostly a proof of concept application draws data from Google map and shows your location. Future versions are expected to add research, support of address, points of interest, directions, and Favorites.

Currently, Windows phone application will be executed only on the combined developer and combined unlocked to the Chevron WP7 tool. Unfortunately, ChevronWP7 tool has been abandoned and certificate in the unlock was hosted on servers of ChevronWP7's. When there is a will, there is an average and xda-developers has archived the unlocking tool both the security certificate. Instructions to liberate your handset can be found here. Instructions for downloading and installation of the XAP file located here.

For those who would rather not unlock their handset, you can checkout the captured screenshot above and watch a video of brief overview below, courtesy of wpcentral (formerly WMExperts). Enjoy!
