Microsoft designed Windows Phone 7 with specific hardware requirements and the limits to the support throughout the phone application update and maintain constant, but there was a fault in their philosophy. The NoDo update was released in March, actually after the February update pre-NoDo, appears to be caused problems for users of Windows Phone 7, which bought a Samsung device and Microsoft has some words of encouragement.
In a recent post on their Windows phone blog, Microsoft Eric Hautala, GM, Customer Experience engineering writes a message to people who have not received the prompt to update and told them "we are not at rest until it's done." These words of advice come at a time when users are becoming more frustrated with their phones. It has been over four months now that they could have tried to obtain the update, but could not, and Microsoft unfortunately appears to have a solution immediately.
Today, I had the dissatisfaction to help my friend update his phone, the Samsung Focus, to the latest version of the NoDo software. Most people know me to be able to manage anything that a phone can throw my way, but it was a little much. Process all together took over 2 hours and included a number of Google, or should I say Bing, research for the error messages I received. The update has been more difficult that of Android on the HTC HD2 and even put on the G2 combined gingerbread. At the end of the day, I've finally accomplished my goal and had NoDo running on phone generalized my friend to guess the third time really is the charm.
This will show that even Microsoft has of humps sometimes with its products and for owners of Samsung Windows Phone 7 out there who are still waiting on the update, they work hard to give you your update.
