HP has introduced the TouchPad webOS and its new range of smartphones, the company said that it would be bringing webOS for the PC market. Now, the CEO of HP is saying that all of its PCs in 2012 will be delivered with webOS.
A report by BusinessWeek, Leo Apotheke said that all PC enterprise will be delivered with this mobile platform besides Windows. The goal is to galvanize the developers to create applications for this platform, which will be more persuasive tablets and smartphones.
The webOS platform has approximately 6,000 apps at the moment, which is much less than the 350 000 apps are in the iOS App Store software and programs of 250,000 in the Android market. By including the webOS on millions of personal computers, this should jump start the interest of the developer.
We are still not certain how this would work, but we know that this does not replace Windows. We have always liked the idea of webOS used as a quick start for PC - your device option automatically wakes in it and it to synchronize with your mobile device for you inform calls, texts or app notifications.
What is happening, is that the HP mobile platform will be an application or environment virtualized desktop where your applications on your phone will be on synchronization and provide notifications. I do not really see the appeal to use the applications on the desktop that much because most of them should be designed for an high tactile interface but HP has some cool touch-capable PC before, so you never know.
What do you think friends? This really is the shot in the arm that webOS is in need? Are you interested in this as a consumer? For our lovely out there developers, this action would take you a look at the mobile platform of HP and more of the iPhone and Android?
