Amazon can ship to 1.2 million tablets this year

Amazon Android tablets are almost certainly soon and a new report from DigiTimes suggests that the company is preparing for 1.2 million tablets of ready by the third quarter. This would put behind only another tablet manufacturer: Apple.

DigiTimes has been hit or miss with these types of things before, but it is usually spot on the provider information. The report said:

Orders from vendors non-iPad, Amazon are supposed to be the most positive, the demand for the touch screens that could reach two million units for the period of August-September, the sources indicate, noting that tablet PC Amazon deliveries should reach 1-1, 2 million units by a conservative estimate for the third quarter.

Amazon Android tablets are still fairly well runaway, but some things seem certain: it will run Android and it should be powered by the NVIDIA Tegra processors. We have heard reports that the portfolio will include a 10-inch tablet that will rock the Kal - El upcoming quad-core chip and the 7-inch tablet should have the Tegra 2 dual-core chipset. The smaller might be labelled as with the Kindle label, but I'm not sure on that one.

The thing on Amazon, is that it could provide extremely compelling experience of the Tablet without even offering services of Google. While I would hate to miss next to Gmail, YouTube and the Android Market, the company has its own Appstore, music and could make his film and TV streaming service to these devices.

It will be an interesting summer for the Tablet wars.
