Ballmer: Windows Phone sales grew from very small to very small

Well, you can say many things about Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, but you cannot say that the man does not have a sense of humor. At a recent event partner Microsoft, Ballmer acknowledged that Windows Phone 7 was not the storm success, that the company had been hoping.

"Telephones, we went from very small to very small, but it was a heck of a year." And you'll see much progress in this competitive market that we move forward. "," Ballmer said, according to the DailyTech.

Recent smartphone data reports that the smartphone market is booming, but Microsoft is not really riding this wave with phone Windows. While the iPhone and Android are moving million units per day, Microsoft has about 5 percent of the U.S. smartphone.

This percentage is not terrible - webOS is worse yet - but it is certainly not what Microsoft thought happen when it introduced Windows phone last fall. I think the problem is that the software and hardware is simply not as good competition yet but that should change as the next harvesting phone Windows will run the mango and more hardware update required features. The Nokia agreement should also help obtain more combined wireless market.

The Windows Phone fans out there? Are you regretting your decision now or happy that you have selected Windows Phone 7?
