Google has released final honeycomb 3.0 Android SDK Toolkit and allows developers to create applications using the new API level and publish it on the Android market.

We expected the full SDK to surrender after the launch of the Motorola Xoom, but it seems that Google has jumped the gun and it is already widely available. It is good that Google gave developers one step ahead, as Tablet application selection the Xoom may seem a little small initially.

Some new additions in the Android SDK from honeycomb 3.0 are:

Interface Builder enhancements in the ADT Plugin:

New Palette with categories and rendering previews.

Rendered more precise layouts more accurately reflect how the layout will look at devices, including rendering status and title at most bars reflect space actually available applications onscreen.

Action selection sensitive bars to manipulate the properties view.

Zoom in (View voucher, persistent scale, keyboard access) improvements

Improved support for layouts, as well as the layouts with overlays of gesture.

TraceView integration easier profiling of ADT.Tools to use the graphics engine of Renderscript: the SDK tools now compiles Government files in Java programming language files and native bytecode.

While this may not do anything for you, it will certainly help research developers are jumping on honeycomb development. Now, developers can take full advantage of new things like the graphics engine of Renderscript to help build features like rich applications ever previously.

While custom Roma are best built with source code - which has not yet released - we can expect to see more out now that the final SDK was released. Therefore, if you already have a decent Android Tablet thinking right now, you can get a taste of honeycomb without having to buy a new camera.

Let the fun begin!
