The last we heard, TELUS indicated that customers would soon have option to unlock their devices for a fee. This news reached the end of last year, and thankfully, with February upon us, we finally get official word on this subject.
Latest TELUS is the defined company offering a service of unlocking for $50, beginning February 15th. To qualify for the service, you must be a TELUS client has a subscription to a monthly plan (postpaid services) and have an active and eligible SIM peripheral for a minimum of 90 days. Your last three consecutive bills have been paid fully, and your account must not be delinquent… Translation? Sign a contract with us, we three months (to show us that you will pay our monthly fee with no questions), and then we'll show you how to unlock your new handset 3 - months.
TELUS shall publish easy to follow client instructions, a complete list of available to be unlocked devices will be also provided. Unfortunately, the following devices won't be available for an unlock:
