Stats Android: Gingerbread on less than 1% of devices

AndroidstatsFeb e1296862015625 Android stats: Gingerbread on less than 1% of devices

Android developer site updated section of targeted devices, and it shows Froyo in 60% of the pie. Android 2.3 spice share doubled in a month, which is not really say much because it is less than 1% of all devices.

We are still wondering if in nest bee and more optimized compressed versions of the operating system will get its own ranking once it is in the hands of the consumer, that the addition of Android 3.0 existing PPV may screw up things significantly. The operating system was forked with honeycomb, now that we know that 3.0 goes to smartphones. That said, Cream Sandwich ice 2.4 Android will probably be the "Bee for phones", just as we expected.

We are really pleased to see Android 2.2 as the dominant of the cake, version even if the gingerbread is truly the place to be at this stage. However, Android 2.1 lightning is going strong with 31.4% of all devices.

We would like to see how aligning the Galaxy s will affect the map once all devices are upgraded to 2.2, but that might take some time. Devices like the Motorola Devour and Cliq XT receive more love in the Department of upgrades for Android 1.5 and 1.6 will be likely around for awhile. If the AT & T Xperia X 10 never sees an upgrade, we could attend Android 1.6 to shave down a bit, but we cannot imagine that the handset sold everything that while it will radically change the graphic.

Android devices become obsolete very quickly these days and even if the dual-core devices, as Atrix 4 G are now out of fashion, we can only imagine how long it will take double heart of smartphones to processors to become a standard.

I would also like to see how many devices that aren't on Froyo or above atop custom UI skins for their. Custom user interfaces tend to slow down the process of updating and a chart would be interesting to see how it just affects the process. That said, we believe that some handset manufacturers would not too happy to see that a majority of skinned phones are to blame for percentages of outdated versions of the OS.
