We already know that the next generation of superphones Android dual-core will be led by LG Optimus 2 X (Star) and NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor dual-core 1 GHz "superchip", but there is nothing as a complete suite of reference tests to really illustrate what can be expected with processors dual core as the NVIDIA Tegra 2 SoC (system-on-chip). So, naturally, we just had to get our hands on our own Optimus 2 x and put it in a battery of benchmarks. The result? The Tegra gives 2 Optimus 2 X the power to launch some serious butt Android (and iPhone).
All trials were held in triplicate (three times). The first two tracks of each point of reference were effected in back-to-back. The third and final trial was conducted after the execution of a separate reference point. Thus, for example, Linpack benchmark was executed in this order: Linpack 1 trial, Linpack 2 trial, Neocore 1 trial, Linpack 3 of the trial.

When it comes to raw processing power (the number of calculations the processor can chewable per second, measured in m $ of FL oating-point OP classified by s second (MEGABIT)), the dual-core Tegra 2 in X Optimus 2 really poses. We used Linpack to processor to test. We ran three separate trials, which resulted in the following notes: 36.402 MEGABIT, 36.213 MEGABIT and 35.949 MEGABIT. Scores are quite similar, which was expected. The average of the three trials was 36.188 MEGABIT. Unsurprisingly, this is the highest score of reference we've ever seen for Linpack on an Android smartphone.

As to the overall performance of the system concerned, we used the reference Standard Quadrant. This test tests the Optimus 2 X whole Tegra 2 chipset. Previous cue points showed that a score of more than 2300 was not impossible. Our own tests show 2 x allows to offer even more power. In three trials, we saw 2 X marking 2564, 2628 and 2566, resulting in a score average 2586.

Now, if you even if these figures are impressive, just wait until see you what the Tegra 2 can do with a 3D graphics card. Don't forget that NVIDIA has had years of experience in the fields of the gaming and 3D graphics so that it is the reason why these guys really know how to run as quickly as they smooth 3D games. Graphics 3D reference Neocore measures how many frames per second (FPS) 3D graphics can be processed to a given 3D animation. Three trials resulted in scores of 75.1 SPF, SPF 78.6 and 76.6 FPS. That means the X Optimus 2, thanks to the Tegra, 2 can push out a whopping FPS 76.76. We expected the Tegra 2 to beat all other smartphones in the Neocore reference point, but expected to peak at more than 78 VPS!
Overall, it is undeniable that the X Optimus 2 kicks some butt serious, as processing power and performance 3D graphics are concerned. Then, what will be the all this translate your user experience? It should translate into smooth animations and screen transitions of powerful multitasking, lag-free web browsing, fast Flash and 3D gaming incredible. Yes, we are impressed, too.
